In January of 2020 my across-the-street neighbor came to me telling me he was selling his house and (jokingly) asked if I wanted to buy it. We closed on the house right before the world unexpectedly slammed on the brakes in mid-March of 2020. What had started as an exciting makeover turned out to be a surreal slog as the bizarro year of 2020 dragged on. I spent the rest of 2020 and early 2021 working on restoring the house and hunting all over West Tennessee, Mississippi and Arkansas collecting unique-to-Memphis objects. Piece by piece the place began to come together. Each time I found something - a book, a DVD, a CD, a chair, a photo, a poster, a glass, a table - the character of the place began to develop. There is a story behind every single item. The Memphis House became my "2020 Sanity Project".
When I travel I want:
Stay at the most unique AirBnB in Memphis! Immerse yourself in the vibrant culture of the city while enjoying all the comforts of home.
